Arsenal's French Midfield Target Preparing for January Transfer Speculation
Yohan Cabaye says he is prepared for the speculation over his future to restart in January after Arsenal had a bid rejected for him in the summer with Paris Saint Germain now linked with a move for the midfielder.
Cabaye had a difficult start to the season with the Gunners making a play for his signature and Newcastle turning down their £10m bid for the France international.
Reports have since claimed that Arsenal might go for him again in January while PSG are also believed to be suitors for the midfielder's services. And while he pushed for a move to north London in the summer, refusing to play a number of fixtures for Alan Pardew, Cabaye now admits that with speculation likely to spark again he would love a move to his home country.
"I know that, in January, the rumours will start all over again," he said, according to the Mirror. "I'd like to know who does not want to play for Paris Saint-Germain?
"I feel great, confident - especially compared to last season. It was the first time in my career I played a relegation battle. This season we are well placed.
"I feel very good, I want it to be a big season, to try to finish as high as possible while thinking about the World Cup next summer."
With Cabaye looking for a place on the plane to Brazil he would certainly be hoping that any move gives him as much, if not more game time as at Newcastle.
After Arsenal were unable to land Cabaye in the summer their turned their attentions to Mesut Ozil and smashed their transfer record in order to bring the Germany international to the Emirates.
But Wenger is believed to be looking for more depth in his squad in January and whether he will make another play for Cabaye, whom he clearly admires, remains to be seen.
