21:30: Plenty of frustration at the City of Manchester Stadium as we reach the final stages of matchday day in the Champions League. The home side haven't got going in the second half, while Dortmund have been terrific in all areas, and through Marco Reus look like snatching all three points.

21:20: Bit of a lull in preceedings across Europe so let's recap. It's goalless in Portugal, between Porto and PSG, while Dynamo Kiev still lead Dinamo Zagreb 2-0. Arsenal are 2-1 ahead against Olympiakos, the same scoreline between the two sides during last year's competition, while Schalke lead Montpellier after Klass Jan Huntelaar's penalty.

Malaga have struck three times without reply for a second successive matchday, as Anderlecht have been put to the sword, and in Group D, Ajax are trailing Real Madrid and Manchester City are being outclassed by Borussia Dortmund.

21:07: Dortmund are ahead, and it's thorougherly deserved. Jack Rodwell plays a lazy pass across his own back four, and Reus nips in, skips away from the City back-four and finishes past Joe Hart. The England international is finally beaten and the German champions are ahead.

20:44: No doubt where the result of the evening comes from, and that's in the Ukraine, where Dynamo Kiev lead 2-0 at half time against Dinamo Zagreb. Zagreb have lost their last seven Champions League games, but in Oleh Blokhin's first game as manager, the hosts lead through Gusev and Pivaric's own goal.

20:36: Well Arsenal's lead didn't last long. Leandro Greco swings in a cross from the left and Kostantinos Mitroglou gets there first to head beyond Vito Mannone. It's 1-1 at the break.

20:31: A lovely move puts Arsenal ahead. Lukas Podolski feeds Mikel Arteta who delightfully finds Gervinho, who turns and steers the ball into the corner. The home side deservedly ahead.

20:27: Not sure how Borussia Dortmund aren't in front at Mancheste City. Joe Hart has made a brilliant double save, firstly denied Gotze, before tipping the playmaker's strike against the bar less than a minute later. The Germans have dominated the first half at the City of Manchester Stadium.

20:16: The home side hit back at the Veltins-Arena from Julian Draxler, as the 19 year old finished after Klass Jan Huntelaar's brilliant pass. A Klass pass you could say. Little else to report around Europe elsewhere.

Well, talk amongst yourselves. Little to report from throughout Europe where it's bucketing it down in Manchester and London. The two goals we have seen tonight have come from Kiev, where a Gusev header from Ognjen Vukojević's has given Oleh Blokhin an ideal start to his reign while Ait-Fana has struck from range to hand the French champions Montpellier the lead at German side Schalke.

20:05: We had 24 goals in the Champions League last night, but in the opening 20 minutes we've seen just two. Meanwhile, Santi Cazorla has been denied by Balazs Megyeri at the Emirates, while Joe Hart has tipped a Mario Gotze effort onto the post for Dortmund.

19:55: Well our first goal of the evening comes from an unlikely source, and the head of Oleg Gusev. Chances galore at the Etihad Stadium meanwhile with Dzeko, Aguero and Zabaleta all going close early on. Arsenal meanwhile have made a slow start against Olympiakos.

19:41: Hard to call Manchester City's game with Borussia Dortmund anything less than a must win for Roberto Mancini's side. Defeat to Real Madrid on matchday one, having been 1-0 and 2-1 ahead, make each of the club's home games in the group stage absolutely vital. Dortmund meanwhile, who have scored 21 goals in their opening seven Bundesliga games, earned a win against Ajax on the opening day and likely to twist in search of another away win on British soil.

Arsenal go into their game against Olympiakos with the confidence of their opening day win over Montpellier, and with an impressive home record to boot. Arsene Wenger's side beat their Greek counterparts 2-1 in the group phase last season, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andre Santos getting the goals. The Frenchman will be hoping for more of the same tonight.

19:30: One game has already finished in the Champions League tonight, with seven-time winners AC Milan recording their first win of the group stage against Zenit St Petersburg.

Urby Emanuelson and Stephan El Shaarawy gave the Italian side a two-goal lead with barely a quarter of the game gone, but Hulk's effort just before the break gave Zenit hope. Roman Shirokov made it 2-2 four minutes after the interval, but Tomáš Hubočan's own goal handed Massimiliano Allegri's side an important win and leaves the Russians bottom of Group C.
