Ash vs Evil Dead season 2: Lee Majors joins Bruce Campbell as father of Ash Williams

After a successful season 1, Ash vs Evil Dead is returning with season 2. The show producers have roped in Lee Majors to play a major character in the horror comedy series by Starz. The official Twitter account of the show has also revealed the character he will play.

"Who's the father of the King? Lee Majors. The six million dollar man joins #AshvsEvilDead for Season 2," the caption for the picture of Majors posted on the Evil Dead's social network account reads. He will play Ash William's (Bruce Campbell) father in season 2.

The Do You Believe star will be joined by Ted Raimi, who will play Chet Kaminski, Ash's childhood best friend. Raimi has played important roles in Xena: Warrior Princess and Spider-Man.

The horror comedy show by Sam Raimi became widely popular among fans who loved not just the comic timings by Campbell, but also the goriness of it when it came to smashing some deadite heads.

Season 1 of Ash vs Evil Dead ended with a bad deal between the chainsaw-wielding deadite hunter and Ruby, who reveals herself as the author of the Necronomicon, the book of the dead.

However, she gives one last chance to Campbell's character to live the life of his dream and stop fighting against the evil. But, as usual he will make the wrong choice and while returning with Kelly and the evil-struck Pablo, there are radio news reports of giant sink holes being formed around the world.

In January, Starz CEO Chris Albrecht told Slash Film that the script for season 2 of the series 'looks really good'. "Second seasons are so important for series. That's the difference between making a movie and making a series. The cast really gelled through the first season. They appropriately got a lot of acknowledgment from the fans and press. We're really excited. This is a series. I think it's got the legs of a real series. The storylines and what I've seen on paper back that up. We're on track for another season in 2016," he told the website.

It will be interesting to see how Ash fights the new devil inside Ruby and how his father and best friend will help him in doing so.

Apart from Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo will return for Ash vs Evil Dead season 2 to reprise their characters of Ruby, Pablo and Kelly respectively. The show will premiere in autumn of 2016.
