Ashton Kutcher has reportedly landed the role of his career after being cast as Steve Jobs in a biopic.
The 34-year-old actor, known for his love of the Twitter and high-tech gadgets, will take on the role in Joshua Michael Stern's film about the late Apple founder.
Kutcher, who bears a striking resemblance to the young tech pioneer, will trade in his comic flair for something more serious as he takes the lead role in the film titled Jobs.
The actor has become a popular romantic comedy actor after roles in Valentines' Day, What Happens in Vegas and New Year's Eve.
According to Variety, Joshua Stern's biopic, which will chronicle the entrepreneur's journey from "wayward hippie" to co-founder of the iconic technology firm, will compete with another biopic being developed by Sony Pictures.
The magazine reports that Kutcher starts shooting in May, during his hiatus from the Two and a Half Men.
