Overview
Pakistan enjoyed a narrow triumph over Bangladesh in the 2012 Asia Cup, emerging victorious by just two runs. Misbah-ul-Haq's side managed to set a target of 237 runs for the hosts, who could only manage 234 runs in 50 overs.
Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfraz Ahmed were the highest scorers on that occasion for Pakistan while Aizaz Cheema nabbed three wickets in the final two years ago.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka battled it out in the Twenty20 International, ODI and Test series between December 2013 and January 2014. The two-game T20I and the Test series ended in a 1-1 draw while Pakistan emerged 3-2 victorious in the ODIs.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka seem to be the more confident side coming into this game after registering convincing wins over Bangladesh in their previous competitive series. The Lankans whitewashed the hosts in the T20I and ODI series, 2-0 and 3-0 respectively and won the two-match Test series 1-0.
Skipper Angelo Mathews will be hoping for the same performance from his team when they take to the pitch at Fatullah.
