Atletico Madrid will hope to repeat their 2014 Champions League quarter-final result against Barcelona when the Spanish rivals meet at the Vicente Calderon on 13 April.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7.45pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport Europe.

Overview

Atletico Madrid closed the gap on La Liga leaders Barcelona to just three points by winning 3-1 at Espanyol on 9 April. The capital club won their sole previous European tie against Barca 2-1 on aggregate at the same stage of the 2013/14 Champions League competition.

Diego Simeone's side must beat Barcelona in the second leg to keep their Champions League hopes alive after losing 2-1 at Camp Nou in the first leg. Defenders Stefan Savic (toe) and Jose Gimenez (hamstring) are doubtful to feature for the hosts, while Fernando Torres is suspended.

Barcelona fell to a 1-0 defeat at Real Sociedad at the weekend to extend their winless run in La Liga to three matches. Barca boss Luis Enrique has won all seven games he has coached against Atletico, including both league meetings between the two teams this season.

Thomas Vermaelen (calf), Jeremy Mathieu (knee), Aleix Vidal (groin) and Rafinha (leg) are all sidelined through injury for the visitors, but Gerard Pique (hip) should feature.

What managers say

Diego Simeone: "I'm very happy with the work of the players after their efforts from the other night with a man down. Espanyol's opening goal could've impaired us, but it had quite the opposite effect. We persevered in the pursuit of victory. We have four days [to prepare for the Barcelona match] and we'll certainly be in very good shape for the game."

Luis Enrique: "The game [against Real Sociedad] started in the worst possible way, they scored from their first chance and we had a very bad first half. We needed more control. I liked the second half more. Their goalkeeper, Geronimo Rulli, had a great game as usual. We did not deserve to lose. It's clear La Liga is open, exciting, but we are still the leaders and now we have to bounce back immediately."
