Attack on Titan: Image of Chile volcano ash resembling giant humanoid goes viral
Even as Attack on Titan, the popular Japanese manga series, will release in theatres in the form of a two-part live action movie, an epic image of the Chile volcanic ash resembling the humanoid from the post apocalyptic thriller, has gone viral on the internet.
The photograph, posted on image sharing website Imgur, soon went viral and have managed to attract more than 20 million views.
After seeing the picture many people agreed that it looked like the giant humanoid of the popular manga series. One user commented, "The Titans have broken free of their prison," while another said, "My Lord and Lady, the Titans have escaped, and they are practically at our gate."
Humanoids in the popular animation series are called "Titans", who feast upon humans and destroy humanity.
The movie, which is set to release in August this year, narrates the story of Eren (Haruma Miura), his adopted sister Mikasa (Kiko Mizuhara) and friend Armin (Kanata Hongo) and their deadly encounters with the giant human killing beasts.
The three friends live inside a three layered high-walled city, along with other surviving civilians. But their peace is short lived as the Titans start attacking their safe heaven, prompting Eren to fight the humanoids.
Meanwhile, spoilers suggest that eventually Eren is likely to be eaten by one of the beasts and turns into a humanoid, but helps his friends survive the ordeal and kills the remaining giants.
The upcoming movie will introduce seven new characters, not mentioned in Hajime Isayama's original anime series.
Keeping the popularity of the series in mind, a companion live action TV series is also being planned by the production house which will premiere when the movie is released.
The second part of the movie is titled as Attack on Titan: End of the World.
