Overview

After winning the four-match Test series against India 2-0, Australia will be hoping to extend their form in the limited overs format against England. The world champions and England will be the other two teams taking part in the ODI series.

George Bailey will lead Australia for the Tri-Series in the absence of Michael Clarke, who is sidelined due to injury. Australian fans will hope that Clarke recover to lead his side for the upcoming World Cup on home soil beginning in February.

England, on the other hand start the ODI series under the guidance of new ODI captain Eoin Morgan after Alastair Cook was dropped by the cricket board over disappointing results.

The Three Lions suffered a 5-2 series defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka away from home in the last ODI series and they will be hoping to bounce back in the Tri-Series. The ODI series starting from Friday will be key for all three nations' preparation for the next month's World Cup.
