World No 1 Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal in a five-hour 53 minutes match at the Australian Open Men's Singles Final on January 30 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. The final score is 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7(5), 7-5.
The 24-year-old Serb celebrated his win in style (see the pictures). There are reasons for special celebrations as Djokovic has now defeated his Spanish rival in three straight Grand Slam finals.
Djokovic also joins Nadal, Roger Federer, Pete Sampras and Rod Laver to three straight Grand Slams.
For the World No 1, this herioc battle was his greatest win of his life. Djokovic's girlfriend was there to cheer the champion.
The tie between Djokovic and Nadal was the longest match in any Grand Slam final.
