Avatar 2: Director James Cameron Reveals Latest Updates About Sequel; Plans to Shock Audience
Avatar director James Cameron is taking his own time on the film's much-awaited sequels but he assures the wait will be worth it as he makes some bold claims about the upcoming films.
"I can tell you one thing about them," Cameron said, when asked about the new films' storylines, in an interview on Wednesday, 26 November with Empire. "They're gonna be bitchin'. You will s**t yourself with your mouth wide open."
The films in production are currently titled Avatar 2, 3 and 4 and as per recent reports, scripting for all three movies is now complete with the team ready to start production this December.
The Terminator director also spoke about his writing team and how the development process on all three films progressed:
"I think we met for seven months and we whiteboarded out every scene in every film together," Cameron explained, "And I didn't assign each writer which film they were going to work on until the last day. I knew if I assigned them their scripts ahead of time, they'd tune out every time we were talking about the other movie."
Cameron also revealed an interesting piece of trivia regarding his growing relationship with fellow filmmaker Peter Jackson, who apparently made a significant contribution to Avatar.
"When Neytiri is holding Jake and she's just brought him back to consciousness, the 'I see you' line was suggested by them," Cameron stated. "It might have been Peter who said that."
