Avengers Age of Ultron reshoots to include Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange cameo scene?
Benedict Cumberbatch might just appear in costume as Doctor Strange, on the big screen, much sooner than expected.
Rumours suggest the recent reshoots planned for Avengers: Age of Ultron might include Cumberbatch.
So, is there is a chance that Doctor Strange might pop up in one of the upcoming Marvel films before his solo outing?
An Enstars report suggests that, "the more likely scenario could be the actor showing up in the next Captain America movie."
"It makes sense because it would be closer to the release date of his solo film and could be his mini-introduction into the main story that Marvel is working on," states the report.
Captain America 3: Civil War is based on the Civil War comic book storyline which features several Marvel superheroes siding with Iron Man or Captain America. So having Doctor Strange in the film definitely makes sense.
"While it wouldn't necessarily be a major role or something other than a quick scene, it would be likely that Marvel would want to introduce the character and show off Cumberbatch in costume before his movie. Maybe it would end up just being a end-credit tease, but who knows, maybe Marvel would be interested in bringing him into the plot a little (like Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy)," states Enstars.
It's interesting to note that a similar move is being executed by Marvel Studios to introduce another main character from their Phase 2 line-up of films. Black Panther (played by actor Chadwick Boseman) will first appear in Captain America: Civil War in 2016 before his standalone film releases in 2017.
