Emily Maynard to Be Season Eight 'Bachelorette'
Emily Maynard, the girl who won the heart of Brad Womack in the fifteenth season of "The Bachelor," is back, this time not as a contestant but as the new "Bachelorette" in the forthcoming season this spring, according to ABC.
Maynard, who has a six-year-old daughter named Ricki, will now be the one giving out roses to 25 men competing for her affection in this upcoming eighth season of "The Bachelorette."
She's "hoping that third time is the charm," said ABC in a press release.
"She is looking for someone who makes her laugh, doesn't take himself too seriously and can be her best friend," Maynard is quoted as saying.
Manyard, who will be the first mum "Bachelorette," says that she never had a hard time finding a date and says that she is lucky to have found love at a very young age.
"I need stability. A lot of times in Charlotte, I would go out with guys, and most guys knew my story. It's just a lot to handle. And with a young child, you know, it's a lot to ask of guys," People magazine quoted her as saying
She says she has been looking for a person whose ideals and beliefs match hers and she is positive that there is such a person among the 25 contestants participating in this season of "The Bachelorette."
The 25-year-old Children's Hospital Event Planner has had a very tragic love life including the death of her NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) racer fiance Ricky Hendrick, who died in a plane crash on October 24, 2004 and her breakup with Texas bar owner Brad Womack last June.
