BAFTA TV 2017: Gillian Anderson, Cuba Gooding Jr and Holly Willoughby wow on the red carpet
The British Academy's TV awards took place on 14 May in London's Royal Festival Hall.
Members of Britain's television industry weathered the rain and bad weather to celebrate the best work on the small screen this past year at the 2017 TV BAFTAs. The event was held on 14 May at The Royal Festival Hall and saw telly's most popular personalities walk down the red carpet to show off the best (and worst) of award show fashion.
While inside the venue, all eyes were on who would win gold; on the red carpet, the focus was on sleek silhouettes, frills and that all-important glamour quotient.
This Morning host Holly Willoughby wowed in a pale blue Roland Mouret strapless gown, which she paired with sparkly jewellery by William & Son. Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson oozed old school glamour in a sparkly gown with a plunging neckline.
Fresh Meat's Zawe Ashton kept it sleek and simple in red caped gown (which happened to match the carpet) and pair of purple pointed-toe heels.
Making the journey from across the pond, Thandie Newton showed off her lithe figure in a sequin-embellished pink gown while British-American actress Gillian Anderson kept it sprightly despite the cloudy weather, in a layered floral number. An injury meant the Hannibal star had to accessorise her outfit with a pair of crutches, but they did nothing to take away from the flawless look.
Transparent actress Judith Light opted for a cherry red number that hinted at classic Hollywood style with its dramatic hemline, and complimented it with a matching cocktail ring.
From the boy's team, Ed Westwick and Cuba Gooding Jr showed of their signature styles – Westwick in a snug dark blue suit and Gooding Jr in a double-breasted black tuxedo.
