In an evening that was marked by one of the biggest surprises in the Premier League season so far, Tottenham Hotspur climbed up to the slot three of the points table, turning up the heat on the two Manchester powerhouses who are on the top two positions at the moment. Spurs defeated Norwich City 2-0 at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

The first half went goalless with a determined effort from Norwich, but the real drama was played out in the second half. Gareth Bale struck twice with flawless perfection. On 55 minutes, he brilliantly tapped home a timely pass from Emmanuel Adebayor from 15 yards.

On 66 minutes came another awesome finish by Bale. He picked up Luka Modric's pass on halfway and, amply backed by Adebayor who opened up a massive gap for him splitting up the Norwich defence, fired past a helpless Ruddy. And Spurs are very much in the reckoning in the title race.
