Overview
Barbados Tridents who are currently placed second in the points table with five points from four games come into this clash on the back of a 25-run win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on 13 July.
South African superstar AB de Villiers came into the tournament with the team's hopes on his shoulders and he has delivered scoring 157 at a strike rate of 155.44 with a highest score of 82. In fact, de Villiers has starred in both of Tridents' wins, being named player of the match twice.
Their bowling led by Ravi Rampaul has been effective, with all of them picking up wickets at crucial stages of the game. The only disappointment has been South African David Wiese who has picked up just two wickets in four games with an economy rate of 9.72.
Despite this, the Tridents will look to keep the winning combination intact and field the same XI that played on Wednesday.
Trinbago Knight Riders too come into this clash on the back of a win, beating league leaders Guyana Amazon Warriors by seven runs on 10 July. The defending champions have not had the best of starts to the tournament losing three and winning two of their five games and are currently placed fourth in the league table.
Their overseas contingent has performed well with Hashim Amla leading the run charts with 251 while Kiwi Colin Munro has accumulated 190 including scoring the first ton of the 2016 edition of the CPL.
Sunil Narine and Dwayne Bravo are the top wicket-takers for the Knight Riders with eight scalps each and with the second half of the tournament underway they will need to step up if Trinbago are to qualify for the knock-out stages.
