Barcelona crowned La Liga champions with one game to spare
Barcelona have sealed the La Liga title with one game to spare.
A 1-0 victory over 2013/14 champions Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon saw Luis Enrique's side move onto 93 points, four clear of Real Madrid in second place.
It is the club's fifth league title in seven years and is the first step of another historic treble with the Copa del Rey final and Champions League final to follow.
Real Madrid beat Espanyol 4-1 with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring another hat-trick to keep the pressure on, but Carlo Ancelotti's side needed their city neighbours to get something against Barcelona to ensure the title race lasted for another week.
A second half goal from Lionel Messi however sealed victory for the Catalan giants.
Barcelona host Deportivo de La Coruña in their final league game of the season before taking on Athletic Bilbao in the Copa de Rey final on 30 May.
A week later, the club can win their fifth European crown when they take on Juventus in the Champions League final in Berlin.
