Barcelona transfer news: Ousmane Dembele 'wouldn't reject Nou Camp move' despite Arsenal interest
Ousmane Dembele's agent, Badou Sambague, has admitted the much-coveted Rennes starlet would find it impossible to say no to Barcelona, but claimed there has been no contact from the La Liga giants. Sambague is aware of the Catalan interest in his client, but adds that Premier League clubs, most notably Arsenal, are ready to make a move for his signature.
Sport reported earlier this week that the 18-year-old forward has emerged as Barca's top priority for the summer transfer window, having netted nine goals in 17 Ligue 1 appearances since making his full debut for the French outfit in November.
The Spanish publication added that Barcelona sent scouts over the weekend to watch Rennes play Nantes, and the teenager impressed with a first-half hat-trick as his side walked to a 4-1 victory. Sport noted that Premier League teams were on alert, but added that Barcelona had the advantage when it came to a €10m (£7.7m, $11m) deal after Dembele admitted his "dream" was to play at the Nou Camp.
Dembele's agent has now confirmed to Mundo Deportivo that the player will not turn down a move to Barcelona, tempering this with the fact that no negotiations are in place to discuss a deal yet.
"There is absolutely nothing but I also confess you that if Barcelona call you, you cannot say no," Sambague admitted.
The agent is aware that scouts from Premier League sides, as well as Barcelona, were in attendance over the weekend.
"We know there were scouts not only from Barcelona, but also some from several English clubs, as the [Rennes] explained me."
Mundo Deportivo claimed both Manchester clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal had spies in the stands, adding that the Gunners' had the biggest interest in the player.
The Mirror, earlier this week, already confirmed Arsenal's Dembele ties, saying Arsene Wenger's French contacts have already recommended chief scout Steve Rowley visit Rennes to see Dembele in action.
