A video has been released by Met Police showing the moment a 16-year-old in Barnet, North London, was attacked by a gang with a baseball bat.

The CCTV footage, from between 5pm and 5.25pm on 1 November, shows the victim walking with his friend along Milton Road when a group of three men armed with weapons start to chase the two down the road, before assaulting the unidentified boy.

Police were called to the scene shortly afterwards by a friend of the victim, who was found with head injuries, concussed and missing a tooth. He was subsequently rushed to hospital and treated for two stab wounds to his head. He underwent surgery for a three-inch wound.

The suspects are described as black men and of slim build. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Barnet CID via 101 quoting the reference number or anonymously on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
