Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice: Gal Gadot talks about her audition for the role of Wonder Woman
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder recently stated that Wonder Woman plays a very important role in the film, teasing that she's the "gateway drug to the rest of the Justice League".
Incidentally, actress Gal Gadot who will be portraying Wonder Woman in the film, had no idea that she was under consideration for the iconic role when she met Snyder and auditioned for a "big role" at the casting session.
"I knew [the role] was big and it was for one of the franchises," she told Entertainment Weekly. Gadot, reportedly, read a scene from the 1994 film Pulp Fiction before Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder filled her in.
"He said, 'Well, I don't know how big she [Wonder Woman] is in Israel...' and my jaw just dropped. There are so many expectations for this character, it's impossible not to be a little nervous about it," the actress added.
Apart from Batman v Superman and the two Justice League movies, Wonder Woman is set to appear in her very own standalone superhero film slated for a 2017 release.
Gadot also shared that she trained for six months to prepare for the character, who is known for her Amazonian fitness. (via Enstars)
"I love doing the swordplay stuff," she said. "It's another skill to add to my collection." But as far as Wonder Woman's iconic lasso, she admitted, "I'm still working on that."
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will open in theatres on 25 March 2016.
