Batman v Superman fight choreographer teases iconic battle scene between the Dark Knight and Man of Steel; First trailer update
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stunt and fight choreographer Guillermo Grispo spoke to Spanish website Los Andes Diario recently about his work on the film and revealed some interesting details on the iconic battle between Superman and Batman.
During the interview (translated by Batman-News.com) the choreographer revealed that Ben Affleck's Batman will have a fighting chance when he takes on the super-powered Man of Steel.
"There's a thought that Batman has no chance, that the other [Superman] will squash him like a bug. But when you see the movie, and how it all comes out, there's a very intelligent explanation as to why they could have a first-hand confrontation though it seems to be totally to Batman's disadvantage," Grispo stated.
The fight choreographer also seemed excited about the fight scenes involving Batman where he felt the caped crusader's fighting skills have been showcased in a more correct way as compared to earlier films:
"Batman is going to fight the way I've always dreamed seeing him fight... he's a character so prepared in martial arts that you can do a lot of things with him, but filmmakers usually don't go all the way with it. Even in the last Nolan movies the action scenes aren't very good from a technical, martial arts point of view to things like choreography, filming, bad camera movements..."
"I think there's going to be a big difference when you see these Batman fights in comparison to the previous ones," he added.
Meanwhile, fans are hoping to catch a glimpse of the epic fight scene between Superman and Batman in the film's first trailer which is rumoured to release alongside Warner Bros' Jupiter Ascending. The makers did tease the sequence in the 2014 Comic-Con teaser so hopefully they'll reveal more of that footage in the full-length trailer.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is slated for release on 25 March, 2016.
