Arrow: Will Batman Villains From Upcoming Show 'Gotham' Crossover to Arrow in Season 3?
What was life like for young Bruce Wayne before he became Batman? Fox will be airing the new TV series – Gotham which chronicles the journey of Detective Jim Gordon (OC's Ben McKenzie), before he became Commissioner Gordon, as he goes up against deadly villains from the DC Comics world.
The first preview has generated immense interest among fans as it features younger versions of popular Batman villains like Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), and Poison Ivy (Clara Foley).
The show marks DC's third big foray into the TV space. A series based on The Flash is also currently in production and Arrow, which airs on The CW network, is already doing really well.
Based on recent developments on The Arrow where other primary DC Comics characters like Barry Allen/ The Flash and Harley Quinn have featured on the show, one wonders if some of the characters from Gotham might cross over to Arrow or the upcoming series - The Flash. Perhaps DC is planning a Marvel style setup on the small screen?
While that remains to be seen, here's the first promo of Gotham:
The video shows young Bruce's parents getting shot and Gordon promising him that the killer will be brought to justice.
Gotham city – portrayed as the center for crime and corruption in comics and film versions forms the perfect background for Gordon in the show to fight his way through injustice and battle the up-and-coming villains.
The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller is the showrunner for Gotham which has been officially picked by the Fox Network for a 13-episode run.
Gotham will air on Fox later this year.
