Big Ang death rumours: Cancer-stricken Mob Wives star is alive and fighting
Mob Wives star Angela "Big Ang" Raiola's representative took to Twitter to address false death rumours surrounding the reality star and confirmed that she is still in hospital fighting her illness. The actress is currently battling stage 4 brain and lung cancer.
"The news that has been reported is totally inaccurate" the 55-year-old star's representative tweeted in a statement. "Please respect her family, and their privacy at this time. ... Angela is still in the hospital surrounded by her loved ones, and is fighting."
"All of the media outlets currently reporting this are reporting false information. No direct information has been given and will not be given anytime soon. Angela is still in the hospital surrounded by her loved ones, and is fighting."
Mob Wives creator Jenn Graziano also confirmed that the death reports are false rumours and told ET Online: "At this time that is a false rumor. I am here with the entire family and all her friends and they ask for your continued support and prayers. We will keep everyone updated."
Raiola beat throat cancer in 2015, but in December of the same year she learned that cancer had spread to her brain and lungs – and that despite chemotherapy, her tumours were growing in size.
Angela Raiola is part of the VH1 series Mob Wives and its spinoffs, and she opened up about her cancer struggles in The Dr Oz Show . "It's shocking what happened," she said. "First I thought I was cancer-free. I was gonna have a big celebration ... and then a month later I was stage 4."
"I look at my kids and my grandchildren and I know how much they need me," Raiola told Dr Mehmet Oz, host of the TV series. The mother of two and grandmother of six has undergone several surgeries since she was first diagnosed with throat and lung cancer.
