BlackBerry OS 10.3.1.2267 and OS 10.3.1.2243 on BlackBerry 10 having Blue LED error: How to fix
All data from the BlackBerry 10 devices, powered with BlackBerry OS 10.3.1.2267 or 10.3.1.2243, get removed when they are restarted manually. A blue LED shows up when the device starts up. The manual restart is initiated using any of the following methods:
1- Choose the option to Restart after processing the Power button
2- Long press the Power button
3- Remove and reinsert the battery
BlackBerry has released an official fix for the aforementioned issue for Windows and Mac users. If you are also facing this issue on your BlackBerry 10 smartphone, check out the following resolution. You may choose either of the methods depending on the desktop operating system you are on.
For Windows
Step-1: Ensure the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Software (BlackBerry Link / BlackBerry Blend) for Windows is installed
Step-2: Connect your BlackBerry 10 device to the computer
Step-3: Wait for the device to be detected by the computer and for Windows to complete the driver installation
Step-4: Download and save the following ZIP file to the Desktop on the computer
Download link: BlackBerryFix.zip
Step-5: Once downloaded, double-click the BlackBerryFix.zip file to open the ZIP file then double-click the BlackBerryFix.exe file to run the tool
Step-6: When the BlackBerry Fix window opens, you will have to confirm the PIN number displayed for the BlackBerry 10 device. Then click Fix this phone
For Mac OS X
Step-1: Ensure the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Software (BlackBerry Link / BlackBerry Blend) is installed on your Mac
Step-2: Download and save the following ZIP file to the desktop on the computer
Download link: BlackBerryFix.zip
Step-3: Double-click the BlackBerryFix.zip file to open the ZIP file, then save the BlackBerryFixMac file to the desktop
Step-4: Open Terminal
Step-5: Navigate to desktop by typing cd Desktop and press enter
Step-6: Connect the device to the computer
Step-7: Run the utility by typing ./BlackBerryFixMac and press enter
Step-8: You should see the following output
- Processing BBPIN = 2FFF498C
- If device is password protected the password will need to be entered twice.
- Fix applied to this device
- Press ENTER key to exit
That's it, your BlackBerry 10 device should not throw the blue LED error anymore.
