Blurred gender lines: Florida suspect 'attempts to rob gas station' with drawn-on beard
Pasco County Sheriff's Office don't know if the suspect is a man or a woman.
Police in Pasco County, Florida, are seeking a suspect caught on camera attempting to rob a petrol station while sporting an apparent drawn-on beard as a disguise.
The incident took place on US Route 19 in the town of Holiday. It is not yet known if money was stolen, but no injuries have been reported.
A still from a CCTV recording of the incident depicts the suspect, originally described by sheriff deputies as "a heavy-set white male in his 30's or 40's wearing a red bandanna, long dark hair up in the bandanna and a green military-style pilot jumpsuit."
However, Pasco County Sheriff's Office has since extended the search to include female suspects after social media users pointed out the unconvincing facial hair.
Later the sheriff's office tweeted: "Just to clarify, the previous description was based on witness statements that the suspect was a male."
"We are still looking for tips and the suspect may be a male or a female."
The suspect wore clear gloves and left the scene in a tan or brown Toyota extended cab truck, heading south on US Route 19, report ABC Action News.
According to WPTV, a reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
