Overview
Nadal progressed to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open after coming out victorious against Radek Stepanek on Saturday. The Spaniard came from behind to win the match.
The World No 1 lost the first set 6-2, giving an upper hand for Stepanek. However, Nadal bounced back and levelled the match at 1-1 after winning the second set 6-4. The third and the final set went down to the wire, only for Nadal to win in 7-5 at the end.
Nadal is the defending champion and is one of the favourites to win the BNP Paribas Open this year. A victory over the Ukrainian at Indian Wells on Monday will see him get one step closer to retaining the title.
Meanwhile, Dolgopolov sealed a place in the third round against Nadal after registering victory over Tim Smyczek. The game ended in straight sets as the 25-year-old won the match 7-6, 6-4.

Nadal has a comfortable 5-0 lead over Dolgopolov in overall meetings. The pair have never met in a grand slam event.
