Boy, 16, Detained After Murder of 17-Year-Old Girl in Oxted, Surrey
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl in Surrey.
Shortly before 5.20pm on Friday, police were called to a house in Amy Road in Oxted, where they found the body of the 17-year-old girl.
Her next of kin have been informed.
Detectives from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team believe the teenagers knew each other.
The boy remains in police custody while investigations continue.
A police spokeswoman said: "A murder investigation has been launched by the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team following the death of a 17-year-old girl in Oxted...
"The investigation is still in the early stages but it is believed that the victim and the offender are known to each other."
