Brad Pitt's lawyer says Angelina Jolie made divorce documents public as actor sought more time with children

Brad Pitt's lawyer Lance Spiegel has alleged that Angelina Jolie has made the former couple's divorce documents public as the Allied actor was looking to spend more time with their children.

Spiegel said that after he and the Original Sin actress' lawyer Laura Wasser discussed about the 52-year-old actor getting more time with the children, the 41-year-old actress filed for their "October Stipulation" on 3 December, which has ended up leaking the documents, wherein Pitt's therapy and visitation schedule is detailed along with his six children.

"The unauthorized filing of the October Stipulation was caused by Petitioner's (Jolie's) reaction to my having advised her counsel that Respondent's (Pitt's) time with the children should be increased," Spiegel claimed, according to court documents filed on 7 December, HollywoodLife reported.

Spiegel continued that the "October Stipulation" needed to be kept confidential to protect Pitt, Jolie and their children. The actor's lawyer noted that there was no reason for Jolie to file the documents in the court and allegedly making it pubic as Pitt had been in full compliance of their agreement.

"The October Stipulation expressly provides that it not be filed with the court unless necessary for enforcement purposes," he said.

According to E! News, Pitt filed a petition for an emergency hearing on Wednesday (7 December) to keep the divorce details under wraps, but the court has temporarily denied the request.

After the court turned down Pitt's request for the emergency hearing, Jolie's lawyer Laura Wasser said they had "won". But Pitt's lawyer Spiegel said that his client can still win the motion as the judge has not denied the actor's request to seal the documents. The hearing has been scheduled for January.

Pitt and Jolie share six children – Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins, Vivienne and Knox, 8. The two started dating after meeting on the sets of the film Mr and Mrs Smith in 2005 and tied the knot in August 2014.
