The Brit Awards 2016: A Who's Who of music rock the red carpet
The stars of the music world are converging on the red carpet at London's 02 arena for what is billed to be a night of show-stopping performances and sensational collaborations. Hosted by Ant and Dec the event sees live performances from the biggest stars on the planet, namely Adele, Rihanna, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, The Weekend, Jess Glynne, Little Mix and James Bay take to the stage
But first they took a moment to strike a pose on the red carpet as a veritable Who's Who of music gathered for the annual celebration of music.
The red carpet saw some reunions of sorts happen. Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson were repping for One Direction with the band nominated for two awards best video and best British group. Their arrival together and their enduring bromance sent Directioners in a frenzy on Twitter. However, the absence of Harry Styles, Niall Horan and ex-bandmate Zayn Malik had the fans commenting on how 'quickly the night changes.'
Brits also saw the return of two Spice Girls as Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton took to the red carpet. It was a welcome return for Halliwell who is famed for her Union Jack dress during her performance with the girl power group during their heyday. This time she rocked a leopard print dress as she made an entrance.
Who Do You Think You Are? singer Lana Del Rey looked ethereal as she arrived to cheers with one famous fan on particular very excited to see her. British Singer Adele couldn't hide her excitement at seeing singer Lana and rushed over to speak with her. The Hello singer looked flawless in a striking, floaty maroon dress.
In contrast, opinion was divided over Rihanna's lilac number, but it takes nothing away from the anticipation ahead of her performance. Jess Glynne made a bold entrance with big hair that was primped into place and a bright green Gucci suit that she managed to carry off. Jack Garratt also opted for an emerald suit but didn't fare quite so well in the sartorial stakes.
Nominated for a slate of awards including British male solo artist, British breakthrough act, British album and British single Hold Back the River singer James Bay arrived in his trademark sharp suit and hat. Also rocking some interesting head gear was the luminous Kylie Minogue. The singer who recently announced her engagement to actor Joshua Sasse, swapped her bridal white for a flattering gothic black ballerina style dress. Arriving on the arm of her beau, the Australian star looked every inch the loved-up bride-to be.
The Little Mix girls also nailed their red carpet look in a very grown up incarnation with slinky coordinated outfits. All eyes were on Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, who earlier teased her dramatic look for the night. Wearing a yellow lace dress the Girls Aloud singer showed no signs of her ongoing marital woes.
As well as live performances, the event will include a tribute to the late music legend David Bowie who will be honoured and remembered by his peers in the music industry.
