The British Soap Awards: The Best Dressed Stars on Soap's Big Night
The stars of the soaps left the scandals of Albert Square and the controversies of the cobbles behind them as they donned their glad rags for the British TV Soap awards.
It was wall-to-wall glamour as they ditched their otherwise drab wardrobes to bring a touch of Hollywood to Hollyoaks and a dash of elegance to Emmerdale.
Hosted by This Morning's Phillip Schofield, the event at the Hackney Empire in East London saw TV stars Jennifer Metcalfe, Jorgie Porter and Jacqueline Jossa shine on the red carpet in show-stopping designer gowns .
Metacalfe, who plays Mercedes McQueen in Hollyoaks, wore a figure hugging red dress, matched with leopard-print shoes.
Eastenders star Jacqueline Jossa, a red carpet favourite, looked ultra stylish in a dress featuring a bold, sheer panel with peacock-effect feathers.
Jorgie Porter opted for a turning silk gown while Jazmine Franks modelled a distinctly Grecian style. Mandip Gill showed off a timeless look in a shimmering a jewel-encrusted gown.
Coronation Street star, Michelle Keegan who is soon to make her dramatic exit from the soap, made a statement in a monochrome trouser suit with the ultimate accessory of fiancée TOWIE star Mark Wright.
Coronation Street scooped the British TV awards last year winning eight prizes and last week won the BAFTA for best British soap.
Shona McGarty looked stunning in a backless, red carpet gown with a train.
Hosted by Philip Schofield, the awards based on a public vote and panel decisions, will take place tonight (May 24) but will be screened on ITV Sunday evening at 8.15pm.
