Britney Spears left little to the imagination when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction at a football game.

The 33-year-old pop superstar was watching her sons Sean, eight, and Jaden, seven, play when she crossed her legs and revealed her knickers. Her Basic Instinct could not be avoided because she was wearing a mini summer dress.

By the time she realised that she was flashing too much flesh it was too late and the moment had been captured on camera. The Hit Me Baby One More Time singer covered her legs with a blanket.

Images of the songstress' wardrobe malfunction were posted online quickly and sent fans into a frenzy.

"She looks closer to her fifties or forties so who cares right!" one commentator said.

Another wrote: "There is nothing there that all of us haven't seen before. At least this time she wasn't going commando. Britney still flashes us, but now she has it covered up (thank God!)"

Spears recently took a holiday in Hawaii with her sons and Dave Lucado.

The entertainer, who is set to return to Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas to continue her A Piece of Me show on 25 April, shared her holiday album with fans on Twitter.

One image captioned "Aloha from Hawaii!" showed the group pulling faces during a day at the beach.
