In the first of a series of three videos looking at the struggles faced by Burundian journalists still working in the country, IBTimes UK met a news reporter at one of Burundi's independent press groups.
The man spoke about fighting against policemen, dodging gunshots and tear gases, evacuating bleeding people, as well as protecting people.
The young reporter, who fears for his life, explained he does not spend more than two nights in the same house.
