Team USA's Caitlin Clark Goes Viral for Hiding Her Feet While Inside the Locker Room After Win Over Italy

Team USA's Caitlin Clark became an unexpected social media talking point after attempting to hide her feet from the cameras following the Americans' narrow World Cup victory over Italy.

On Sunday, Team USA survived a major scare against Italy, edging out their opponents 55-52 in Berlin to improve to 2-0 at the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup and secure a place in the quarter-finals. However, Clark's performance was far from memorable.

The Indiana Fever star finished with just one point, four rebounds and one assist after going 0-for-6 from the field. It was reportedly the first time in her professional career that she failed to make a field goal.

After the final buzzer, though, attention quickly shifted away from the court.

A broadcast camera showed the Team USA locker room, where Clark appeared to tuck her feet underneath a bench in an apparent attempt to keep them away from the shot. Jackie Young noticed what was happening and pointed towards Clark, prompting laughter from Clark, Angel Reese and Aliyah Boston.

The light-hearted exchange quickly spread across social media, with fans offering plenty of theories and jokes about Clark's decision to conceal her feet.

One fan wrote: 'Cause of some weird grown ahh man cant stop getting turned on by some feet lmao. They would've screenshot it and then dream about Caitlin stepping on them. Slave fantasies,'

The reaction came after a difficult night for the Americans. Team USA shot only 16-for-56 from the field and made just one of 12 three-point attempts, while Italy had a chance to force overtime before Cecilia Zandalasini missed a potential game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer.

Clark Has History With Cameras

Clark's attempt to avoid the spotlight was not entirely new.

The star guard previously attracted attention for a similar move in March following a qualifying victory over Italy. She reportedly pressed her face against an advertising board in a tunnel as reporters attempted to approach her.

Her latest locker-room antics have therefore added another amusing chapter to her increasingly camera-aware reputation.

But while the viral clip provided some entertainment, Clark's form will ultimately matter much more as Team USA advances into the knockout stages. After an impressive 14-point, 11-assist display against China in the opening game, she will be expected to rediscover her shooting touch when the Americans return to action.

For now, however, Clark and her teammates can afford to laugh. Despite one of their poorest offensive performances in years, Team USA remains unbeaten and has already booked its place in the quarter-finals.
