Calvin Harris misses out on Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston's Met Gala dance-off

Singer/songwriter Taylor Swift is usually accompanied by her boyfriend DJ Calvin Harris on all her major outings. However, at the prestigious fashion event at the Met Gala 2016 Swift strutted on the red carpet in all her glory, sans Harris.

She was in the limelight for her red carpet appearance head of the fundraising gala, after she revealed that girl-squad member Selena Gomez would accompany her. Then she made heads turn with her custom Louis Vuitton silver snake-skin dress. All in sync with the theme of the year Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology.

While fans expected to see the Bad Blood hitmaker walk hand-in-hand with Harris, they would have surely been disappointed as the 26-year-old walked in solo. But in an impromptu twist, she managed to generate a lot of excitement among fans. A brilliant dance-off between Swift and Tom Hiddleston aka Loki from Marvel movies, not only mesmerised onlookers, but also sent the internet on a frenzy, when videos of the dance were uploaded by fans.

In the first video posted on Instagram, Hiddleston joined the Blank Space singer to groove to Queen Bey's track Crazy In Love.

But, the dance floor heated up when Hiddleston challenged Swift to a robotic dance-off on TI's Bring 'Em Out. Apparently, the robot-steps are the actor's signature moves, which he earlier showed off during the White House Correspondent's Dinner after-party.

Meanwhile, Swift was seen spending more time with her gal pals as she hit the Met Gala after-party with the Haim sisters and danced the night away. Moreover, reports suggest that Scottish DJ avoids glamorous events because he likes to keep his relationship private.

"Taylor Swift didn't take boyfriend Calvin Harris to the Met Gala because he is actually a really shy guy and does not like all the attention they get when they are together," a source told Hollywood Life.
