Calvin Klein rocks into Fall 2015 with Lou Reed inspired designs at New York Fashion Week
On the last day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York on 19 February, American design house Calvin Klein created "urban eroticism" with 38 pieces for Fall 2015.
Francisco Costa, the brand's women's creative director, said he wanted to play with different proportions while using luxurious fabrics.
"We used a lot of great skins. So you have all this manipulated ponies skins and shearlings. But here we show them as patchworks; creating layering and excitement."
Burgundy, white, blush and terracotta were the only pops of colour in the mainly black and chocolate collection.
Costa said his metal detailing was inspired by the late rock star Lou Reed.
"Lou Reed was not just the music but also was the beginning, you know, of juxtaposition of inspirational elements."
Calvin Klein kept to the 1970s theme in its collection with patchwork leather coats and jackets and leather sheath dresses.
New York Fashion Week ended on 19 February with 96 designers showing as part of the official event.
