Canadian Grand Prix 2016: Where to watch race live and qualifying review
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has qualified in pole position for the 2016 Canadian Grand Prix, piling more pressure on his teammate Nico Rosberg. This is Hamilton's fifth career pole at the Canadian Grand Prix, having won on each of the last four races when he led from the front.
Rosberg qualified in second spot and would compete for top honours for the 13th consecutive time from the first row. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel will start in third while Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo has to be content with fourth.
Ricciardo has put in some fine performances this season, but has mostly come away empty-handed when it mattered and the streak continued in Monaco where his pole position was compromised in a botched pit stop. Hamilton took advantage of the goof-up and now will be looking to win in Canada as a blank for Rosberg could give the former the lead in the championship.
Eighteen-year-old Max Verstappen will start for Red Bull in fifth place, while Kimi Raikkonen took the sixth spot. Wet weather is forecast for the race on Sunday, which should help the Briton as he excels in wet conditions.
