Cannes 2015: Stars attend the premiere of Mad Max: Fury Road
Day two of the Cannes film festival and it was another night of glamour as the stars turned out for the red carpet premiere of Mad Max: Fury Road.
The movie's star Charlize Theron turned heads as she walked hand-in-hand with her partner, fellow actor Sean Penn.
The statuesque South African beauty shone on the red carpet at The Palais des Festivals, making a bold statement in a canary yellow strapless dress with a dramatic train. With her hair swept up in a stylish chignon, she kept her jewellery to a minimum, but it was hard to miss a pear shaped diamond on her ring finger.
It was earlier reported that Penn had proposed to the actress during a recent trip to Paris, but there has been no confirmation as to whether the couple may be engaged as yet.
When the question of marriage came up Theron told Esquire: "The marriage thing is always so strange to me. I love the possibility of anything, but I'm really enjoying myself and the everyday moment and how that coincides with my son and my life and my friends. I'm a very, very, very lucky girl. Very lucky. He's hot. He is hot."
She did manage to tear herself away from her man to pose with her Mad Max co-stars Tom Hardy, Zoe Kravitz and Nicholas Hoult. British star Nicholas Hoult looked smart in a classic tux, while leading man Tom Hardy was also suited for the occasion.
Zoe Kravitz showed off her tattoos in a flowing white dress with a plunging neckline and a sheer pleated skirt as she took tot he red carpet.
A host of A-list stars joined the cast on the red carpet, including Australian actress Naomi Watts. The 46-year-old exuded elegance in a dramatic black strapless Ralph Lauren gown with a floral brocade and a sheer cape detail.
In contrast to her striking red carpet look on day one of the world renowned film festival, Julianne Moore wore a claret red velvet dress for the premiere.
Indeed, red was the colour of choice for several stars on the night with Bollywood actresses Katrina Kaif and Maillika Sherawat both opting for bold red gowns.
Kaif, who this year makes her debut at the film festival as an ambassador for L'Oreal, looked effortlessly stylish in the red lace Elie Saab dress, which complimented her new red locks.
Cannes regular Mallika Sherawat struck a pose in an Alexis Mabille gown with dramatic cape detail, matched with Boucheron statement jewellery.
Meanwhile, Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez dared to bare in a black and nude dress covered in sparkly black flowers, with a sheer skirt.
