Cannes Film Festival 2016: Kim Kardashian sparkles in diamonds for her red carpet debut

Kim Kardashian stole the show at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival as she strutted on the red carpet dressed in a sheer-panelled chainmail gown with a flowing train. With dramatic eyes and her raven locks pulled back in a sleek style, the mother-of-two showed off her post pregnancy weight-loss at the Cannes party.

"Hey guys! Global express—on our way to Cannes," Kardashian posted on Snapchat before she dropped in at the film festival. Covered in diamonds from feet to toe, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star attended a jewellery party hosted by De Grisogono on the sidelines of the film festival.

Kanye West's leading lady was accompanied at the prestigious event by her mother Kris Jenner, who looked gorgeous as she sported diamond solitaires herself. "I'm excited just to be here in Cannes. It's the most glamorous place in the world and I have the most glamorous jewellery on and a beautiful dress, so I'm living life – I'm happy," said the 35-year-old Kardashian flaunting her diamond teardrop earrings and a huge emerald on her finger.

The mother-daughter pair attended the star-studded De Grisogono party at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes. Unlike her previous outing – at the Webby Awards in a Vivienne Westwood dress – the younger Kardashian looked rather dramatic at the Cannes event as she wore a couture gown by Lan Yu. Her dark, thick-lashed eyes aptly complemented the nude lips and pulled-back hairstyle.

Also in attendance at the jewellery party were actor Robert De Niro and model Bella Hadid. The KUWTK star later took to her Instagram account to thank Fawaz Gruosi, the creative director of De Grisogono, "A big thank you to Fawaz Gruosi for having me at the @degrisogono event tonight! Obsessed with these jewels," she wrote.
