So Chelsea will face Tottenham Hotspur on 1 March in the League Cup final at Wembley. That is about all we have time for on this live text. We're back with all the games from the Premier League this weekend but until then, goodbye.

Full time: Sheffield United (2) 2-2 (3) Tottenham Hotspur - Tottenham through to the League Cup final

What a cup tie and in the end it is the Premier League side who set up an all-London League Cup final at Wembley. Christian Eriksen was the difference in the end with two goals in either half, but not before Che Adams' first goals for Sheffield United had the League One side dreaming of the final. Fabulous game but Mauricio Pochettino's side are through.

Four added minutes to be play at Bramall Lane but we might have some more after a nasty collision between Michael Higdon and Michel Vorm as the forward chased a loose ball in the penalty area. Jan Vertonghen gets up to confront the United forward and there are some angry scenes it must be said.

Four added minutes at Bramall Lane. can the League One side go again?

That might be the winner for Tottenham. Harry Kane plays the ball through and Christian Eriksen latches onto the pass and slides past Howard. Sheffield United's race could be run.

Well, well, well. For so long they looked dead and buried, Tottenham chances came and went and yet Sheffield United are on course for a famous result over Premier League Spurs, who look shell shocked. We're heading for extra time as things stand and United almost get another, but Louis Reed blasts over.

Goal: Sheffield United (2) 2-1 (2) Tottenham Hotspur (Che Adams)

What a turn around! Two goals in as many minutes from the substitute. Ryan Flynn gets to the byline and though his cross is deep, Adams takes it down and finds the net, via an Eric Dier deflection. Amazing.

Goal: Sheffield United (1) 1-1 (2) Tottenham Hotspur (Che Adams)

Sheffield United back in with a shout of reaching the League Cup final. Ched Adams taps home at the back post after a fine Jamie Murphy cross.

Final throw of the dice for Sheffield United, who need two goals in the remaining 16 minutes. Michael Higdon on for Marc McNulty and Che Adams on for Jamal Campbell-Ryce. Erik Lamela is replaced by Andros Townsend meanwhile for Spurs.

The chances are flowing now and Ryan Mason is the latest player to go close, poking wide after Harry Kane's through pass.

Harry Kane with his umpteenth shot this evening as Howard palms away his free-kick from range.

Marc McNulty is fed the ball in the right channel of the penalty area but his cross is woefully and it goes high and behind for a goal-kick. Dembele off Paulinho on for Tottenham. Louis Reed on for Michael Doyle for the Blades.

Good period of possession from the hosts but it ends with Scougall shooting wide from range. Spurs will be happy if they continue from there for the remainder of the evening.

Ryan Flynn the latest player in Mike Dean's book after a foul on Dembele as the Tottenham man raced away down the left. Half an hour to go for Sheffield United to force their way back into this tie. Tottenham, sitting pretty.

The ball from Murphy is pulled back to Jose Baxter, who hits a fine shot goalwards but the ball is blocked. Tottenham having to hang on a little at the moment.

Mousa Dembele for a cynical foul on Murphy. Bit of pressure from Sheffield United, who have a free-kick in a dangerous area on the left.

Jamie Murphy at the centre of things again for Sheffield United, but he drags his shot from fully 25 yards well wide. No sign that that crucial equaliser is coming yet, as Harry Kane is denied again by Howard.

The only positive for Sheffield United has to be how Spurs continue to spurn chances to put themselves out of sight. The latest chances comes the way of Kane again, who cuts back inside but drives wide of the near post.

Players out for the second and we're back under way at Bramall Lane. No changes at the break.

Half time: Sheffield United (0) 0-1 (2) Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs cap a fine first half display with a sublime Christian Eriksen free-kick to double their lead against Sheffield United to put one foot in another Wembley final. Eriksen's goal is the difference in the scoreline on the night, but in truth there has been a huge gap in class between the two sides. The Blades must regroup and call upon all their powers of cup heroics to spark an unlikely turnaround here.

First effort we've seen in a while from the hosts and is comes from Marc McNulty, who is fed the ball on the edge of the box but after teeing the ball up for himself, only volleys wide. Jose Baxter is among those waiting for the ball further forward.

The snow is falling with some vigour at Bramall Lane and it's made it a bit of a scrappy affair without much cohesion, which Tottenham will take having doubled their aggregate lead through Christian Eriksen.

Another chance for Spurs to put themselves out of sight. Kane again is put away and after cutting back inside to improve the shooting angle, he forces Howard into a low stop.

Goal: Sheffield United (0) 0-1 (2) Tottenham Hotspur (Christian Eriksen)

Tottenham find the breakthrough they have been threatening throughout this opening 29 minutes and it comes from a special free-kick from Christian Eriksen, who curls the ball up and over the wall and off a motionless Mark Howard's right-hand post and in. Terrific strike and Sheffield United are in trouble.

Dembele is everywhere in these opening minutes and he bullies Chris Basham out of the way and plays in Harry Kane, who despite being at a tight angle, smashes the outside of the post. Now a free-kick in an attacking area for Spurs....

Ryan Mason hits one from 30 yards which dips before Mark Howard makes a relatively easy save. End to end stuff in this opening quarter, not necessarily how the hosts would have liked it.

Harry Kane shoots wide now. Tottenham getting too many chances in this early period, but will they take one?

Nervy times for Sheffield United, who can't concede the first goal if they're to have any chance tonight. Kyle Walker cuts back inside off the byline and his cross is beaten out by Howard. The ball eventually falls to Dembele but he drags woefully wide.

Murphy gets in behind again but his cross can't find McNulty. The Blades have started well but there is plenty of space for Tottenham at the other end and Kane finds some, but Howard makes a smart stop.

What a chance for Sheffield United! Jamal Campbell-Ryce's cross isn't dealt with by Vorm, who flaps at the ball in and it falls to Jamie Murphy and the Dutch stopper somehow gets back on his line in time to boot the ball off the line.

Erik Lamela is in for Tottenham tonight and he almost helps Tottenham get through again in these early minutes. Some nice interplay between the Argentine, Kane and Dembele ends with the Belgian driving into the box but losing the ball.

Jay Everley conceded the penalty which saw Tottenham take the lead in this tie and he almost helps them double their lead after just three minutes of the second leg. He fails to run the ball out of play on the near touchline and Harry Kane pickpockets him and runs in behind but his cross is crashed out of play.

Under way at Bramall Lane. Great atmosphere in the steal city.

Players coming out at Bramall Lane and we're almost ready to go in a snowy Sheffield.

Tottenham's defeat to Leicester City may have been lost and overshadowed by the shocks of the FA Cup fourth round day, but you'll find few Spurs fans who will have forgotten that defeat and the manner of it to the Premier League relegation favourites. Pochettino has kept faith with nine of the players who gave them his narrow one-goal lead going into tonight's game. The pressure is really on for the Argentine.

If tonight is anything like the first leg, the Premier League side are unlikely to have everything their own way. Sheffield United were bold and fearless in their approach a week ago in north London, but the onus is on them tonight to take the game to Tottenham in order to drag back the lead given to the north London club by Andros Townsend and also see them through to Wembley.

Spurs will have to tackle more than just a baying home crowd at Bramall Lane tonight. The snow is coming in, in Sheffield.

Both Sheffield United and Tottenham make eight changes from their weekend games for this semi-final second leg.

Mark Howard, Chris Basham and Jose Baxter are the only survivors from the 1-1 draw with Preston for the hosts, who make just one change from the first leg loss at White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino rings the changes after the FA Cup exit at the hands of Leicester City. Andros Townsend, scorer from the first leg, misses out. Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen are both in, while Michel Vorm is retain.

Teams:

Sheffield United: Howard, Harris, Basham, Flynn, Doyle, Murphy, Scougall, Baxter, McNulty, McEverley, Campbell-Ryce.

Tottenham Hotspur: Vorm, Walker, Vertonghen, Lamela, Dier, Kane, Dembele, Eriksen, Stambouli, Davies, Mason.

After the thrilling first semi-final saw Chelsea prevail over Liverpool, it's the turn of Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur to complete the line-up for the first showcase final of the season.

The Blades, cup specialists these days and the slayer of five Premier League clubs in domestic competitions in recent years, gave as good as they've got in the first leg at White Hart Lane but eventually succumbed to Andros Townsend's penalty in the second half.

Mauricio Pochettino is under immense pressure to see Spurs through to their first domestic final since 2009 but Nigel Clough side, with a home crowd behind them, will pose a stern threat to the north London club. Another feisty evening awaits us.
