Captain America 3: Jeremy Renner teases Hawkeye's role in Civil War and Marvel Cinematic Universe
Hawkeye had some of the best lines in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jeremy Renner's superb portrayal of the character left fans looking forward to more of him in the upcoming Captain America 3 - Civil War.
So what will the non-superpowered Avenger be doing in the upcoming Marvel epic? Speaking to ScreenRant to promote Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Renner teased his upcoming role in Captain America: Civil War.
"It's more active. A lot of fun stuff happening in that one. I can't speak too much for it. They're still filming that sucker right now. But yeah, there's a lot of stuff happening in that one physically for me anyway," the actor said.
Hawkeye is now one of the core members of The Avengers and has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe [MCU] for a long time now - (his character first showed up in a brief role in 2011's Thor). Several regular and new Marvel characters are set to feature in Cap 3.
When asked if it is a good idea to phase out old characters to make place for the new ones in the MCU, Renner replied:
"...it's always great to have new faces come in. They're not big on replacing people and characters so much, which I think is smart, because there are so many different characters. I think there's going to be a lot of new faces coming up in that world. I'm happy just to be a part of that big universe. It's nice to be able to continue things and characters that you've kind of grown with. That's a fantastic blessing for any actor."
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War is slated to release on 6 May 2016. The film will mark the 13th instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
