Captain America Civil War trailer: New footage will be unveiled at AsiaPop Comicon
Marvel fans in Philippines will be treated to new footage from Captain America: Civil War, featuring Steve Rogers and Iron Man at the AsiaPop Comicon Manila on Saturday, 19 September. The trailer will feature scenes that have not been seen in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to CNN Philippines, the news was confirmed by Rita Magnus, general manager of Universe Events and Entertainment, which is organising the convention at the World Trade Center in Pasay. It is also reported that Paul Bettany, who made his appearance as The Vision in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, will attend the convention.
Magnus told CNN Philippines, "What we're doing is an exclusive screening of never-seen scenes from Captain America: Civil War and we'll have Paul Bettany with a panel after that... so it kind of encompasses the new Marvel movie."
The huge Marvel fan base in Philippines prompted them to come to Manila, revealed Magnus. "I have been researching. I did a whole research with regards to Manila so we know about the passion and the crazy fans you have here.
"We wanted to bring somebody from the cast of Avengers, someone big in the Marvel's Civil War movie... and The Vision (played by Bettany) is a really big character." The trailer will be shown "definitely for the first time in Asia-Pacific," she added. Previously, the Captain America Civil War trailer was shown at Disney's D23 convention in August to a few attendees, but Marvel has not officially released it yet.
Captain America 3 picks up after the unfortunate events of Avengers: Age Of Ultron and will follow the Civil War storyline from Marvel Comics. After the destruction of Sokovia city, due to Ultron's evil plans in Avengers 2, the government plans to enforce a superhero registration act to avoid such a catastrophe. The act will divide the Avengers team into two groups, one that advocates the registration, and another that will stand against it.
Hawkeye, Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier), Ant-Man, Falcon and former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Sharon Carter (aka Agent 13) will side with Cap, while Iron Man has Black Widow, Black Panther, the Vision and War Machine on his side. The movie is scheduled for release on May 2016 in the US.
