Celebs in Wooing Gowns at Cannes 2014: Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts and Blake Lively
The French Riviera has been witnessing celebrity galore since the red carpet of the 67th Cannes Film Festival rolled out.
The third day of the international film festival was no exception when actors and actresses from around the world arrived for the screening of the film How to Train Your Dragon 2.
The film, which is sequel to the 2010 film of the same name, was shown at Cannes Film Festival 2014 out of competition.
Actresses who wowed with their appearances on the red carpet on day three included Naomi Watts, Blake Lively and the film's cast member Cate Blanchet.
Actress Cate Blanchett, who voices Valka character in the film, wore a reptilian-inspired gown that reflected the theme of the film. The floor-length dress by Givenchy featured sequin-embellished bodice that looked like a reptile's scales, nude mesh panels on the back and black pleated maxi skirt.
The 45-year-old Australian actress completed her look with her hair swept up and a pair of chandelier earrings.
Actress Naomi Watts was an epitome of elegance at 2014 Cannes Film Festival as she sashayed down the red carpet in a grey Marchesa gown.
Her off-shoulder dress featured glittery details on the sweetheart neckline, at the waist and on the back. The 45-year-old Diana actress completed her ensemble with a snake-like diamond necklace from the Bulgari Serpenti Collection and showed it off well with her hair swept to her right shoulder.
Blake Lively, who is making red carpet appearances on behalf of the official make-up partner of the Cannes Film Festival, L'Oréal Paris, wowed in a gorgeous black and white gown ahead of the premiere of the film, The Captive.
The 26-year-old actress also made another stunning red carpet appearance the previous day wearing a white sequined dress from Chanel couture spring 2014 collection.
