Celtic Reinstated into Champions League After Legia Warsaw Field Ineligible Player
Celtic have been reinstated in the Champions League after Legia Warsaw were ruled to have fielded an ineligible player during the second leg of their 6-1 aggregate win.
Bartosz Bereszynski came on as an 86th minute substitute at Murrayfield when he was meant to be serving a suspension for a red card he recieved at the end of the previous campaign, which breaches Uefa rules.
European football's governing body have declared the match a forfeit and awarded Celtic a 3-0 win in the second leg, which sees them go through on away goals having lost the first leg 4-1 in Poland.
The Scottish League champions are now included in the play-off draw for the Champions League on Friday as a seeded team and could face the likes of Ludogorets Razgrad, Maribor, Slovan Bratislav, Malmo and Aalborg for a place in the group stage.
