ICC Champions Trophy 2013: Australia v New Zealand, Where to Watch Live, Preview, Confirmed Teams
Australia face neighbours New Zealand in an ICC Champions Trophy Group A fixture at Edgbaston, with the four-time champions needing a win against Brendon McCullum's men to stay alive in this edition.
Where to Watch Live
The match starts at 10.30am BST, with Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD providing live coverage in the UK.
Overview
Australia, who are in the midst of a horrible run of form and results, enter this match with everything to lose. George Bailey's men were convincingly beaten by arch-rivals England in their opening game. The visitors toiled with the ball and conceded 269 runs from 50 overs. And despite fighting half-centuries from the captain and James Faulkner, Alastair Cook's men strolled to a 48 run win.
If Australia lose again on Wednesday, they will have to beat Sri Lanka on Monday, hope England lose their remaining games and then rely on Net Run Rate.
Meanwhile, the Kiwis sit pretty after beating the Lankans in a low-scoring thriller at Cardiff. Captain Kumar Sangakkara was the lone bright spot with the bat and his 68 helped his country to 138 all out. In reply, New Zealand struggled and needed mini-contributions from up and down the order to register a one wicket win.
A win for McCullum will guarantee a semi final spot. A defeat will not be a disastrous outcome, given they face England in their final match and can look back to the recent 2-1 ODI series win against their hosts for inspiration.
