Chelsea have confirmed new summer signing Nathan will play on loan at Vitesse Arnhem next season alongside academy star Izzy Brown.

The 19-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder moved to Stamford Bridge on 14 May from Atletico Paranaense after the Blues paid a fee of around £4.5m to secure his services, according to Daily Mail.

Having represented his national team at Under 17 and Under 20 level, he is considered one of the next big things to emerge from the prolific Brazilian academy.

But Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has opted to send him on loan to the Eredivisie in order to secure playing time in Europe before having the chance to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.

The club have confirmed his move alongside versatile forward Brown via an official statement.

"Chelsea Football Club has agreed terms with Vitesse Arnhem for Izzy Brown and Nathan to spend the 2015-16 season on loan at the Dutch club," the Premier League giants stated.

Brown, 18, joined Chelsea from West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2013 after becoming the second youngest player ever to play in the Premier League following his first-team debut with the Baggies.

Mourinho promoted the forward to the first team in February alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek before handing him his Blues debut in the 3-0 loss at West Bromwich Albion in May.

But he has now decided the player will continue his development at Vittesse.

The duo will join Lewis Baker after the young midfielder was sent to the Dutch side earlier in June as the Premier League champions have a partnership with Vitesse.

Nathan and Brown will follow the footsteps of the likes of Josh McEachran, Christian Atsu, Gael Kakuta, Nemanja Matic, Lucas Piazon and Bertrand Traore, who all spent time in Arnhem in order to get first-team football.
