Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 7.45pm BST, with Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 1HD and Sky Go providing live coverage in the UK.

Overview

Chelsea have not had the best of starts to the new season and are currently without a win in their last three matches in all competitions. The Blues lost the Super Cup to Bayern Munich on penalties three weeks ago and also suffered defeat in their Premier League outing against Everton at the weekend; which saw them falling to 6th position in the table. However, Mourinho and his men will be confident of returning to winning ways against their Swiss opponent tonight.

Basel, on the other hand, also failed to get off to their usual flying start to the domestic campaign. Murat Yakin's side, who are looking for a fifth successive league title, are currently third in the Swiss table, three points behind leaders Young Boys. The club is very much capable of causing an upset or two, after finishing above Manchester United in their group two years ago.

Chelsea and Basel had met in the semi-finals of the Europa League last season, with the Blues progressing 5-2 on aggregate.

What Managers Say

Mourinho: "With Basel, at the first look people think 'not so difficult'. I just remember two years ago: Manchester United out, and Basel through. Last year [in Europa League]: Tottenham out, and Basel through. So they're a difficult team."

Yakin: "Obviously Chelsea are the clear favourites [to top the group], but let's see after these first two games. Chelsea have a new manager and some new players and we've also changed a few things. We want to go out there, play in a clever way and be positive."
