Chelsea Boss Jose Mourinho Boosted By Fernando Torres Return
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been handed a major boost as Fernando Torres is set to return to action and he will make the trip to West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday.
The Spaniard has missed Chelsea's last three Premier League games after injuring his knee during the 3-1 victory over Manchester United on January 19.
Mourinho has confirmed in a press conference that Torres will be back in contention for the match at the Hawthorns and he may have the chance to play as a starter – considering that the Portuguese boss does not trust Demba Ba and Samuel Eto'o may have some rest before the crucial FA Cup game against Manchester City.
Nevertheless, Terry, who missed the 3-0 win against Newcastle last Saturday, is not expected to return until the FA Cup game against City at the weekend.
"Fernando [Torres] is back and available for selection but John Terry is still out" Mourinho said.
"Fernando is back and available for selection. I expect John to be back for the next game [against Man City]."
The Special One has also insisted that Chelsea made the right moves in the last transfer window - selling Juan Mata and Kevin De Bryune and signing Nemanaja Matic, Mohamed Salah and Kurt Zouma.
"In this transfer window Chelsea have made roughly a £23 million profit. There are no arguments against that."
At the same time, Mourinho has insisted that Chelse are in a transtitional season and he will not be disappointed if they do not win the League.
"I don't how many points it will take to finish top. Every team in the league will be very influential. It won't be disappointing if we don't finish top" Mourinho added.
"I will be disappointed if my team can't keep this level. If we don't win tomorrow it's not just about the title contenders (going above us), it's about Spurs and Everton closing the gap."
Chelsea are currently leading the Premier League after Arsenal's humiliating 5-1 defeat against Liverpool and Manchester City's failure to secure victory at Norwich.
