Chelsea murder: Tracy Phillips to appear at West London Magistrates Court charged with stabbing woman
A 48-year-old woman is due to appear at West London Magistrates Court on Monday charged with stabbing a female to death at an address on Stadium Street, Chelsea. Tracy Phillips, 48, of Downe House, Springfield Grove, south-east London, was on Sunday (2 August) charged with murder and remanded in custody. Scotland Yard detectives launched a murder investigation after the victim was pronounced dead at the home earlier that same day.
Officers were called at approximately 1:20am to reports of a woman suffering stab wounds at the address. London Ambulance Service also attended and the 35-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at the scene 15 minutes later.
Although officers believe they know the identity of the deceased, formal identification is yet to take place. Enquiries are under way to trace next of kin and a post mortem examination will be scheduled i n due course. The investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Simon Ashwin from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).
