Barcelona, Madrid and Juventus Chasing Chelsea Academy Star - Report

Chelsea academy star Kyle Scott is reportedly a summer target for a host of top European clubs, including Barcelona.

The 15-year-old central midfielder has yet to sign a professional contract at Stamford Bridge. And, according to the Daily Mail, the west London outfit will now face stiff competition from European heavyweights Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid to secure the youngster's long-term future.

Scott has already been capped by England at the U16 level. Chelsea are understood to be keen to see off challenges from the player's potential suitors and keep him in their ranks.

The Blues have failed to offer first team football to any of their academy stars in recent years, with the exception of Ryan Bertrand. Roman Abramovich's policy of signing new players every season - instead of promoting any junior level players - has seen highly rated youth products, such as Josh McEachran and Jeffrey Bruma, going away on back-to-back loan spells, despite proving themselves at Stamford Bridge.

Juventus, Barcelona and Madrid will look to capitalise on this situation at Chelsea, if and when they offer Scott a professional contract.

Yossi Benayoun Hints at MLS Move

Meanwhile, Yossi Benayoun has revealed he would like to move to the United States' Major League Soccer (MLS) during this transfer window. The Israeli midfielder's contract with Chelsea runs out this month. The 33-year-old has already confirmed he will leave the Blues at that time.

"I finish my contract on 30th June. At the moment I'm in talks with several European teams. I'm checking my options but, to tell you the truth, America is one of my favourite options. I'm trying to do everything I can to come to America and play in the MLS, and hopefully it works out in the next few weeks," Benayoun said.

The playmaker's agent has listed New York Red Bulls among the clubs interested in signing his client.
