Where to Watch
Kick-off is set for 3:00pm GMT. Catch the highlights on Match of the Day on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:30pm GMT.
Overview
Chelsea ended Manchester City's winning streak at home in the league this season, emerging victorious at the Etihad Stadium last Monday. The west London club secured a 1-0 victory courtesy of a first-half goal from Branislav Ivanovic.
The win enabled the Blues to go level with the Citizens on 53 points after 24 matches but remained third in the league table due to City's superior goal difference. Jose Mourinho's side are currently on an unbeaten run of 10 matches in all competitions and have maintained eight clean sheets, conceding only two goals in the process.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have endured a poor run of form this year winning only one out of their last six matches in all competitions. The Magpies were stunned in the Tyne-Wear Derby last Saturday at St James' Park, suffering a 3-0 defeat against Sunderland.
Alan Pardew will be looking for his side to bounce back from the setback to give Chelsea their first home defeat in the league this campaign. Newcastle sit eighth in the table with 37 points after having played 24 matches in the league.
What the Managers Say
Jose Mourinho:"They have a good team, good players. They know they can beat us because they did a few months ago. Alan's a good coach, they play well away from home so it will be difficult for sure. Do we dream of winning the Premier League? Of course, If we didn't we wouldn't play. Do we want to win the next game against Newcastle and to be there? Of course we do."
Alan Pardew: "It's an important period because we have got two really tough games. I think everybody would appreciate that - but we really do need to put a performance on the pitch that contains enthusiasm, desire and a real purpose, and that's what we are going to do [against Chelsea]. You have to defend well."
