Chris Brown denied role in Power season 3 by Starz executives despite 50 Cent's promise
Brown's role was reportedly axed due to his 'anger issues'.
Starz's super hit show Power season 3 almost had singer Chris Brown on board with 50 Cents aka Curtis James Jackson wanting to bring the R&B singer to play the role of a drug lord. However, his wish to offer a major role to his rapper friend has reportedly been stumped by Starz executives.
"50 promised Chris a big role on 'Power,' playing a drug dealer. But 50 didn't consult the network first, and execs were not happy when they found out about it," a source told Page Six. The website claims that Jackson promised a role for the Royalty album hitmaker in his crime drama, but Starz officials refused to oblige citing Brown's "anger issues".
"The network insisted that Chris' casting was not going to happen, because of fears about his anger issues. There was a big blow-up, and they had to tell Chris he was not going to get the role. The news was delivered to him early Monday. He was livid", the report said.
50 Cent and Brown remain close friends and have supported each other during their time of need. The 27-year-old singer was recently arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a woman identified as Baylee Curran called 911 alleging the singer had pointed a gun at her.
In support of the singer, 50 Cent posted a picture of Brown on his Instagram account. "That's my boy. I watched him come up, a lot of the shit he go threw is crazy to me. If your not safe at home when do you get a break? If someone calls 911 and says you pulled a gun on them in your house, are the police coming to creat a bunker at the end of your drive way for 11 hours to wait for a search warrant? Then live stream it, This must be VIP Treatment," he captioned it.
Chris's lawyers have dismissed the rumours by issuing a statement: "There was also, by this so-called accuser, a statement that was given to the police that apparently there was some jewellery there and she described with great detail what this piece of jewelry was," his lawyer Mark Geragos said. "We examined – and the officers had me stand there and we filmed it as well – the jewelry and nothing was found to corroborate her statement."
